SONNENSHEIN has solved many problems in the military field using its world famous dryfit batteries technology.

The rechargeable sealed and absolutely maintenance-free dryfit batteries have been built according to NATO military specifications and to German army standards for "Sealed Lead-Acid Batteries" VG 96924.

They are ideal for use as starter and power supply batteries both in tracked or wheeled vehicles and in frigates. Over 20 years of experience and improvement in conjunction with the German army and other NATO military partners has proved their suitability.

The batteries of traction are basically two-volt cells assembled according to various combinations and dimensions to provide capacities going from 30 Ah to 1500 Ah. Independant of its specialization in the conventional technology of the lead-acid batteries based on an advanced tubular design of cells with positive plate, Exide Technologies also offers other battery technologies to always fulfill the requirements in market trends of electric traction. Those include the solid cast batteries without maintenance incorporating the technology of gelled electrolyte and technology in metal or copper-drawn bar (CSM) for high performance optimum applications.

The sector of the handling of materials constitutes the largest market for the batteries of traction, equipping lifting trucks, electric trucks of counterweight, car-pallets, low level pick-ups, turret carriages, towing tractors, height carriages and VNA (carriages for narrow passage). This sector only accounts for approximately 60% of the European sales of batteries of traction at Exide Technologies.
